About

Less House, More Home.

Why is an artist selling and blogging about real estate?  Good Question.  For me, there is an art to anything you choose.  Mastering skills, honing your craft, being able to express yourself through a particular media, satisfaction of a job well done, are all hallmarks of any art form or profession.  I LOVE houses.  I LOVE people.  I LOVE sharing my skillset with others.

Over the years, I have gained valuable knowledge of the housing industry, interior design, remodeling, building code, zoning laws, and architecture.  I have already achieved many goals as an artist and designer.  I had a successful mural painting, faux finishing, and design business.  I grew tired of being on a ladder.  Painting on canvas is a lonely pastime that can be done well into the wee hours of the evening of life.

My children are grown and free time is boring, and there’s that pesky expense called college.  Alas, at a crossroads, do what you love, love what you do.  I am now a real estate agent and I get to use my talents to design and sell homes!!  Why not blog about it along the way? And here I am, headed down an ever changing and exciting path.  I love the people I have met along the way.  I really enjoy what I do and feel blessed that I get to do it.

Less House More Home is a multi-faceted art form.  For everyone it is a different formula.  For some it’s literal: it’s a smaller house, impeccable design, and high end details.  For others, it’s figurative: less about the house, and more about how it provides them a better lifestyle.   For them it can be more square footage so they have places for their children to play or a larger bathroom easily converted for an aging parent to be able to bathe themselves since independence provides them dignity.   I know people who enjoy mowing 3 acres every week, they say it’s cathartic.  I know people who want to pay someone to mow .25 acres, who say they’d rather not be wasting their life doing yardwork.  All of these people are me, or at least have been me at some point in my life, and they are you too, depending on where you are in your journey.  Our homes are more about our lifestyle than anything else.  I like to think that I am helping to buy and sell lifestyles, not houses.  Less houses, more HOMES.  That seems like a much more interesting and rewarding path to be on.  Thank you for being a part of my journey and hopefully, I can help you with yours.
